"silspoon myth" - Beyond Silver competition



This project have been selected in the final 150`s shortlisted by designboom.com in the "Beyond Silver" competition over 3,566 designers from 89 different countries.


Este proyecto ha sido seleccionado entre los 150 finalistas del concurso organizado por designboom.com lista" Beyond Silver". En el cual participaron 3566 diseñadores de 89 países diferentes.

"...Folk wisdom has it that putting the handle of a silver spoon down the neck of a sparkling wine bottle will keep the liquid effervescent. It´s a mith! but this project pretends to give this believers a hope, and not trying to put limits to their beliefs.
Most of experiments says that a silver spoon is irrelevant, and what does help it´s refrigeration and a stopper for prevent absorbing fridge odors.
People adopted this piece of silverware and modified its functionality, based on the myth. The fact is that they got used to do it, maybe they love the combination of the materials and forms, or they enjoy adding new functionality to some objects, or just believe..."


"...La sabiduría popular dice que al poner el mango de una cuchara de plata en el cuello de una botella de vino espumante, éste mantendrá el líquido efervescente. Es un MITO! pero este proyecto pretende dar a estos creyentes una esperanza, y tratando de no imponer límites a sus creencias.
La mayoría de los experimentos realizados, afirma que la cuchara de plata es irrelevante, y qué lo que realmente ayuda, es su refrigeración y un tapón para evitar la absorción de los olores de la heladera. Las personas adoptaron esta pieza de plata y modificaron su funcionalidad, basada en el mito.
El hecho es que se acostumbraron a hacerlo, tal vez les encanta la combinación de los materiales y formas, o bien disfrutar de nuevas funciones a algunos objetos, o simplemente de creer..."
